Our Kids
Two stories about our kids from yesterday. We were riding in the Chevy Tahoe up to our errands and telling Keano about the Family Christian Bookstore. He had never heard of that and thought we were talking about "Little Pilgrim's Progress." "Little Pilgrim's Progess" is the book we've been reading in the nights. The main character's name is "Little Christian." It's a children's takeoff on the original Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan.
Well that little miscommunication amused us quite a bit. Because Keano's English is still developing it happens a lot actually. And Erin took that moment to tell Keano how happy she is that he is our boy, that he is with us, and that we all love each other so much.
He totally brokedown into tears. He was sobbing saying, "Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for choosing me." Erin and I gently rubbed his back and talked to him. "Do you know who chose you?" Erin asked. (We knew he did.) He said, "God." And we talked for the rest of our trip about what God has done.
Later, Gloria-- who is 4 months and 3 days old-- well, that little girl's world got turned upside down. Literally. She rolled over all on her own for the first time.
I was on my way out of the house to ask the neighbor about the water being off and I saw Gloria laying on her side. She had rolled from her back to her side and that's not unusual. She's been doing that for a while. I thought about helping her roll over because I just read in our baby book that we can help her learn to roll over by giving her a little push. But, the water issue was pretty urgent so I ran out the door and thought she'll figure it out soon enough on her own. When I came back, Erin said she didn't see it either but one moment Gloria was on her side and the next moment she was on her stomach. She was shocked! When I came home she was calling people just to announce the news!
So here we have the Lord teaching us about election, adoption, and baby steps of discipleship all in one day. We love it.
